Caela & Tim Wedding

Individual - Freelance Designer - May to September 2025
I worked as a freelance digital and stationery designer for a wedding in Miami, crafting a cohesive visual identity for the event. I developed the wedding’s color scheme and designed both the save-the-date and formal invitation cards. In these designs, I utilized illustration, typography, and layout using Illustrator and InDesign to design tailored pieces that reflected the couple’s vision for their wedding.

I began the design process by meeting with the couple to establish their wedding’s color palette and typography. During our initial consultation, they shared their vision and inspiration images for the event, including invitation styles they admired, such as the examples shown on the left.

For the Save the Date design, I drew inspiration from postcards to match the theme of travel for a passport and boarding pass invitation set. To highlight the couple’s photo, I emulated the look of a Polaroid instant print, adding a personal touch to the design. I also included other elements such as a stamp on the back of the card and a heart icon on the map to signify the location.

The invitation cards were designed to resemble a boarding pass, enhanced by flight-themed language, rounded corners, and perforated ticket-style graphics. On the back of the ticket, the wedding day agenda was presented in a time zone-inspired layout, subtly echoing the couple’s travel-themed stationery.

The invitation featured a booklet designed to resemble a passport, with the cover elegantly finished in silver foil.

The back of the booklet featured custom stamps symbolizing meaningful locations in the couple’s journey together, adding a personal and narrative touch to the design.

Opening the booklet revealed three pages: the first held the formal invitation and guest details, the second outlined the timeline of wedding events, and the final page provided venue and appropriate dress code information.
